It Begins.


All the gang in Cargo on Saturday night.

So it begins the world cup that is and what a great start it has been too. The opening match between Germany and Costa Rica was very good with plenty of goals! I have to admit though I stayed in to watch the match but myself and Sarah did head down to Cargo for some pre-match drinks and to soak up some of the atmosphere!
So that was Friday night, on Saturday Dell came around with the Donna, Jess and Frances early as there was some important match on that night that he didn’t want to miss. The two of us headed down to Cargo to ensure we got some quality seats and sure enough we did indeed, class seats. The atmosphere was pretty good too – the game from what I remember was pretty poor and Engerland look like the might struggle on Thursday, if the boy wonder Rooney is not fit. All in all it was a good night, the only let down was that the poxy bar staff wouldn’t turn on the commentary for the game, so I highly recommend not going to Cargo to watch a match, great screens but only if you where watching a silent movie!

Sunday we headed down to the monkeys early – get a few games of pool in and a few pints, before we headed to watch the rugby. We decided to get tickets to watch the mighty Wallabies take on England. Have to say through that the atmosphere was terrible and the game was equal to that! Even though the Wallabies hammered England 34 – 3 you could here a pin drop in the stadium. We headed back to the monkeys after the match for a couple of scooners and to catch the Holland match, another good game.
